COVID-19 Updates & Information - Updated 5/18/20

The Kern High School District will discontinue its Wi-Fi bus routes effective Monday, April 27, 2020 due to extremely low usage by students.  If you are one of the students that did use the Wi-Fi bus route, please contact us at or call 661-827-3149.  **Please note that Wi-Fi connectivity is still available from the parking lots of all KHSD school sites.  Wi-Fi access is also available at most elementary, middle school, & junior high campuses to make access available in local neighborhoods.

School site offices will also be closed through the remainder of the school year & will be very minimally staffed. Please call the school site number available on the KHSD website if you need to request assistance. This number is also posted on the front entry to the school site.

Pandemic EBT Benefits

Pandemic EBT benefits- families who’s children who are eligible for free or reduced meals at school will get extra benefits to help buy food.
If already receiving CalFresh, CalWorks, Medi-Cal, or Foster Care benefits DO NOT apply on-line you will automatically receive the P-EBT beginning May 11-May 22.
Those who are not currently receiving aide from any of the above programs AND they attend a free lunch for all students school OR famiky qualifies for free or reduced lunch may apply for the P-EBT starting May 22 online at
Families can still apply for free or reduced lunch at by clicking on “I want To” on the menu bar.
Please share with families who may be in need when schools start closing for the summer.
