Program Description

This course is designed to introduce and expose students to various dance forms including, but not limited to, jazz, ballet, and modern dance along with a study of dance history. This class will also develop basic techniques as well as acquaint students with the proper terminology of movement. Students will also create their own dance combinations.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

Students will be able to identify and perform basic dance moves from many different genres and cultures and recognize their similarities and differences.  Students will have opportunities to perform routines or simply be a part of a team that builds and grows on dance variety.  Conditioning to become a better dancer is a part of daily tasks.  Dance is a wonderful form of self-expression for many students.
