Program Description

Visual Arts is a hands-on series of classes that emphasize skills and problem-solving. No previous art experience is necessary for the beginning-level class. The three levels of classes are Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Art. Students would be able to take Visual Arts classes in each of their four years of high school.

 

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

You will learn the basic skills necessary to communicate through the visual arts. Students will be able to experience multiple types of media in 2D and 3D formats. Skills learned in the Visual Arts classes can be used in Graphic Arts classes as well. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS AVAILABLE:

One year 10 credits

 

PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENT(S):

Beginning Arts has no prerequisite, but all other levels need previous experience.

Ms. Mary Bradford

Mary Bradford Art Teacher
  • Degree from UCLA
  • Has been a teacher since 1984
  • Previous Mentor Teacher
  • Has taught in Wales, Russia, Spain, and the US
  • The author and illustrator for two children’s books for the Department of Energy on Wind Energy
  • Earned a certificate from the Art Institute of Chicago
  • Beautiful Bakersfield Award nominee
  • Has shown her own personal art pieces at the Betty Younger Gallery.
