North VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM
Program Description
Our Volleyball Program is a place of growth, relationships, teamwork, and a competitive culture. Our program philosophy focuses on our pillars of HEART and NextBall mentality. Heart: Honesty, Effort, Accountability, Respect, and Trustworthy. By upholding these traits we have built a place of success and positive team based culture. We take pride in our hard work and positive team culture that we have been building over the past few years. As a program, our goal is to teach the skills, mindset, and work ethic that will help our athletes find success on and off of the court. In our program you will find teammates that support and encourage each other, a place where you learn to invest in yourself and your teammates.

MEET THE COACH(ES):
Heather Stinson: I am a North High Alumni. I trained in the volleyball program at Bakersfield College, then transferred to Fresno Pacific University to finish my BA in Psychology. After college, I returned to Bakersfield to work in the school districts and coach volleyball in my community. I have been coaching for 11 years, 6 years at Standard Middle School, 5 years at North where I have been coaching Varsity for 3 years. My passion for the game and dedication to serving and inspiring others has allowed me the opportunity to continue to build a program where athletes can grow and build leaders that invest in themselves and their teammates.
Shelby Cathey: I am a North High Alumni. During my time at North I received the Rookie of the Year in volleyball and had the opportunity to play in the KHSD All-Stars game. I am currently completing my BA degree in Sociology at UCSB, and have returned to Bakersfield to serve my community. I am currently blessed with the opportunity to be an intern at Bakersfield Angels Non Profit Foster Care. After I graduate, I hope to get into a Master of Social Work program so I can eventually reach my dreams of helping others and making a difference in our community.
Maddyson Partain: I am a North High Alumni. After graduating from North, I attended Fresno State University where I studied Education and played Rugby. I returned to Bakersfield and joined the North Volleyball program last year as the Frosh-Soph coach and Varsity assistant. I learned so much in my first year and look forward to being a part of this program and continuing to grow the positive culture and help our athletes grow.
