Cross Country
Program Description
North High School Cross-Country trains for long-distance running events of 2-mile, 3-mile, and 5k or 3.1-mile races. We train throughout the summer and fall months beginning with competitions in September. We run dual meets against each of the high schools in our league and travel around the state to compete in large invitational events; some favorites include Santa Maria, Castaic, and Mt. SAC (the world’s largest cross-country event). Races are run over open country (dirt, grass, hills, and pavement), unlike track and field events. If your goals are to get or keep fit and develop stamina, endurance, speed, and mental toughness, come check out our cross-country team.
